Last updated: August 2026. This policy lists every cookie SchengenDoc actually sets, who sets it, how long it lasts, and how to change your choice.
Nothing optional runs before you say yes
On your first visit we load no analytics script at all. Google Analytics is not requested, and no _ga cookie is written, unless you actively choose to accept analytics cookies.
We implement Google Consent Mode v2. Before any tag can run, we set analytics_storage, ad_storage, ad_user_data and ad_personalization to denied. Accepting analytics updates only analytics_storage to granted — the three advertising signals stay denied at all times, because we do not advertise or run remarketing.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small data files placed on your device when you visit a website. Similar technologies such as localStorage work the same way and are covered by this policy too.
Strictly necessary cookies
These make the site work — sign-in, draft saving and payment. They cannot be switched off, and they are not used for analytics or advertising.

Analytics cookies — optional, off by default
We use Google Analytics 4, measurement ID G-GPFBD1PYML, with IP anonymisation enabled. It tells us which guides get read and where people abandon the generator. It runs only with your consent, and the cookies below are written only after you accept.

Google acts as our processor for this data. Google's own description of these cookies is published in its privacy and terms for business.
Your choice, and how to change it
The banner on your first visit offers three equally weighted options — Accept, Reject and Manage. Nothing is pre-ticked, rejecting takes exactly one click, and rejecting does not restrict any part of the site.
Your choice is stored for 6 months in the first-party schengendoc_consent cookie. You can withdraw or change it at any time — it is as easy to withdraw as it was to give:
The same "Cookie settings" link sits permanently in the site footer. Clearing your browser cookies also clears the record of your choice, and you will be asked again.
Updates to this policy
We update this page whenever the cookies we set change. The "last updated" date at the top always reflects the current behaviour of the site.
