1. Is Italy your main destination?
You apply to Italy only if it is where you will spend the most nights — or, with equal nights, where you first enter the Schengen area. Applying to Italy for appointment convenience when another country is your main destination is a jurisdiction error.

Frequently asked questions
Where can I see the official Italy visa requirements?
On the Foreign Ministry's 'Il visto per l'Italia' portal, which lists documents by nationality, residence and purpose.
Do I need a paid flight ticket for an Italian visa?
No. A verifiable reservation consistent with your itinerary is the usual evidence; avoid unverifiable 'dummy' tickets.
